Coronavirus

coronavirus structures and the search for a cure

Coronaviruses are a persistent threat to health of the global community. Viruses such as SARS, MERS, and the new SARS-CoV-2 emerge from animal populations and infect humans. Coronaviruses contain an exceptionally large genome that encodes several dozen viral proteins. Structures of these proteins are used to develop new drugs and new approaches to creating vaccines to fight coronaviruses. Visit the RCSB PDB for all of the related PDB structures, related images, and other resources.
