About Tomato Bushy Stunt Virus

Tomato bushy stunt virus (TBSV) is a tombusvirus that leads to stunting, leaf mottling, and deformation or absence of fruit in plant hosts (Wagner et al., 2007). TBSV is an isometric virus with triangulation number equal to 3, which indicates that the virus is composed of 180 coat protein (a triangulation number of 1 corresponds to 60 subunits of single coat protein). Three different types of polypeptide chains are present in TBSV: A (red in static rendition), B (blue in static rendition), and C (green in static rendition). The 180 TBSV proteins encapsulate a single-stranded RNA, which consists of about 4,800 nucleotides.
