Exploring Integrative Structures with RCSB.org
Webinar hosted by RCSB PDB | November 12, 2025
Structures of many macromolecular assemblies are increasingly determined using integrative approaches, where information from multiple experimental and computational sources is combined. Structures determined using integrative and hybrid methods (IHM) are deposited and processed by the wwPDB, issued PDB accession codes, and archived alongside experimental structures in the PDB archive. RCSB.org offers expanded access to integrative structures. In this webinar, we will demonstrate how to use RCSB PDB tools to find, visualize, and analyze IHM PDB structures together with other PDB experimental structures and Computed Structure Models (CSMs).
Course Objectives and Intended Audiences
After watching the videos in this course, you will be able to:
- Understand how integrative structures are archived in the PDB
- Use RCSB PDB search tools to access and download integrative structures
- Explore structure summary pages, experiment tabs, and validation reports for integrative structures
- Visualize these structures in 3D and understand available annotations
- Explore integrative structures alongside experimental structures and CSMs through RCSB PDB Group Summary and Group Sequence pages
This course is intended for:
- Bioinformatics or structural biology researchers
- Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in biomedical sciences
- Anyone interested in integrative structural biology
